Greater public demand for ”green” cotton, has brought on price increases in organic cotton, thus helping spur greater allotted acreage. The OTA forecasted an even more significant increase in the farming of American organic cotton next year. Keep in mind U.S. organic cotton, only comprises approximately 2.1% of the world’s organic cotton production, but this is certainly a wonderful sign of the times and how consumers have positively impacted the cotton industry.
